Engaging Families in Early Learning & Care Systems Change

We have direct experience with engaging families as part of efforts to improve early learning and care systems. We gather information about needs from families and caregivers, and we document their ideas about how early learning and care systems can be made better. These efforts generate insights that are critical for government and foundation clients and partners investing in program improvement and systems change efforts.

Care Worker Training and Advancement

Early Learning and Care Workforce

Our team has expertise in training and support systems for workers in the early learning and care workforce. We have evaluated services that support new family child-care business owners, coach new preschool educators, and offer professional development for childcare providers on how to support dual language learners. We provide technical assistance to new and emerging preapprenticeship and Registered Apprenticeship programs in the early learning and care sector and to colleges with early learning and care program offerings.

Knowledge of Early Learning and Care Systems in California

SPR has a deep understanding of early learning and care systems in California through our engagement with different parts of the system at local, county, and state levels. We work with community groups on evaluation and assessment, tool development, and program improvement efforts in collaboration with partners and stakeholders, and we provide technical support throughout the process.
