About Nick

Nick is a Senior Associate in the Education, Equity, & Community Change Division, providing mixed-methods expertise for a variety of education evaluations including First 5’s Kit for New Parents evaluation, projects with the Hiesing-Simons foundation’s early learning and care portfolio, and a power mapping project with the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment. Nick is passionate about using evaluation as a tool to facilitate conversations between community members and decision makers so that those with lived experience can steer research and evaluation efforts.

Nick comes to SPR with over six years of experience managing mixed-methods evaluations. Before joining SPR, Nick worked at the Institute for Social Research at Sacramento State University, where they led several educational equity projects, in addition to evaluations of violence prevention and affordable housing initiatives. Prior to Nick’s evaluation career, they were involved in various youth justice and community organizing efforts. Nick holds an M.S.W. from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Michigan. In their free time, Nick can be found hiking, playing piano, or petting any animal that will let them.
