About Ben

Ben Mahrer is an Associate in the Workforce and Human Services with experience in mixed methods research, evaluation, and technical assistance. Prior to joining SPR Mr. Mahrer worked as a Research Associate at WestEd, where he conducted evaluations of K-12 ed-tech products and curricula. He has experience in a range of evaluative contexts, including efficacy (RCT, quasi-experimental), feasibility of implementation, and formative studies, and specializes in applying behavioral insights (BI) to improve the efficacy, reach, and inclusivity of social services and community wellness programs. He studied applied BI and program evaluation at the University of Washington, where he earned an M.P.A. He also holds a B.A. in philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley
