Line by Line: Transforming Student Lives and Learning with the Art of Poetry

SPR was commissioned by the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) to better understand student-level outcomes associated with Poetry Out Loud–a national arts education program supported by NEA, the Poetry Foundation, and state arts agencies. This study used mixed methods and integrated student voice to understand the program’s influence on academic engagement and performance, social and emotional development, and poetry appreciation and engagement.
