SPR’s Skye Allmang and Joy Jeounghee Kim won the prestigious 2022 Nevile-Plowman prize for the Best Article in the Economic and Labour Relations Review in 2021 for their article ‘Wage theft in the United States: Towards new research agendas’
Wage theft is a violation of national, state, and local labor standards, yet it is prevalent in the low-wage labor market of the United States. In their article, Drs. Allmang and Kim discuss how lessons from states and localities, such as the importance of increased worker education and strengthened deterrent methods, could inform policymaking at the national level.
