National Emergency Grant American Samoa: From Tsunami to Renewal

In September 2009, an 8.1 magnitude earthquake hit the land outside of Samoa causing a tsunami. In response, the National Emergency Grant (NEG) recruited and employed more than 2,000 people to support clean up and recovery. Learn about the impacts of this restoration initiative here:
