About Isis

Isis Covington is an Associate in the Equity, Education, and Community Change Division. With her time divided between the Education and Racial Justice/Racial Equity portfolios, she is passionate about creating equitable PreK-12 experiences and opportunities for youth and families furthest from educational justice as well as working with philanthropies aimed at dismantling systemic barriers to racial equity.

Isis has experience in mixed-method research, but is particularly interested in qualitative design and analysis. Her current efforts are informed by prior experiences working with teachers, school and district leaders, foundations, community members and community organizations. Isis has expertise in strategic learning to help inform the internal efforts of foundations by providing quick turnarounds of data for actionable purposes.

Isis earned an M.S.Ed from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology at Seattle University. In her spare time, she enjoys watching Star Trek, reading, and taking absurdly long walks.
