To provide support for the Apprenticeship Pilot Models (APM) for Youth and Adults, Social Policy Research Associates (SPR) is joining forces with Ethos Strategic Consulting, and Jobs for the Future (JFF). The team will select and support 3-4 APM sites that are leveraging the apprenticeship (and other) model(s) to support structured career pipelines for people with disabilities (PWD) into high-demand, high-skill, well-paid careers in the tech field as well as other high growth sectors. Pilot sites will be supported by technical assistance provided by the project team as well as a group of subject matter experts. The TA team will work with employers to build their capacity to hire and retain PWD. The team will also support workforce and education intermediaries to understand and leverage labor market information, regional sector-based economic initiatives, and other demand-driven talent pipeline initiatives to promote, facilitate, and support the inclusion of PWD as an untapped labor pool.
Lessons learned and resources created in support of the sites will ultimately help scale up successful approaches to increase access to opportunity for PWD. This will provide additional talent for the tech sector and high growth industries. Information on these promising practices will be gathered through structured evaluation components such as site visits, case studies, and data collection and findings will be disseminated at both the practitioner- and policy maker-level.
The project team is led by SPR’s Project Director Vinz Koller. Ethos’ Josh Christianson will serve as Project Manager and SPR’s Jessie Oettinger will serve as a co-Project Manager. The project leadership team is complemented by JFF’s Tom Hooper who will serve as the JFF Project Lead.
