Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate-level degree in one of a variety of disciplines, including economics, public policy, sociology, education, psychology, and other social sciences. 
  • Demonstrated experience in research methods (including conducting interviews, focus groups, site visits, survey design & analysis, social network analysis, etc.).  Experience with random assignment studies is a plus.
  • Experience with SAS or other statistical software packages, survey design and development, qualitative research, or other technical research skills, as well as experience conducting analyses of social programs is a plus.
  • Experience with public policy, labor issues, and workforce development systems specifically is strongly desired.
  • Excellent writing, oral communications, and organizational skills are also essential. 
  • Preference will be given to those with experience working with racially or socioeconomically diverse populations. 
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD (or MA + 3-4 years direct experience) in public policy, economics, sociology, psychology, education, and other social sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience in research methods (including conducting interviews, focus groups, site visits, survey design & analysis, social network analysis, etc.).   Background in designing and carrying out random assignment studies a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of workforce development systems generally, and the Workforce Investment Act specifically.  Experience with specific U.S. Department of Labor-funded projects (e.g., YouthBuild, STEM, Prisoner Reentry Programs,  etc.) is also a plus.
  • Expertise in workforce development issues, particularly in employment and training efforts targeted towards special populations (e.g., ex-offenders, older workers, dislocated workers, migrant & seasonal farmworkers, disabled populations, etc.). 
  • Experience with project management, including oversight of staff and project budgets is a plus.
  • Excellent writing, oral communications, and organizational skills are essential.

Position Title: Facilitation, Training and Capacity-Building Specialists (1-2 positions)

Social Policy Research Associates (SPR) is a growing and dynamic research, evaluation, and technical assistance services firm engaged in policy analysis of workforce development, employment training, education, philanthropy, youth development, health, and human services programs.  We are currently seeking dynamic individuals at multiple levels to join our training and technical assistance team, which serves a range of public and non-profit clients (including, workforce training providers, state and city governments, philanthropic organizations, other non-profit organizations, etc.).  The U.S. Department of Labor is one of our major clients, thus many of our technical assistance projects focus on workforce and career development for disadvantaged populations.

SPR offers a full spectrum of modern methods for training facilitation and content delivery.  Our trainers specialize in both in-person and virtual training, including use of tools to guide facilitated processes, graphic facilitation and recording, online tutorials, webinars, and video.  We provide customized support to individual organizations and multi-agency alliances, as well as provide technical assistance for multi-site national projects and initiatives. Position Title: Senior Quantitative Research Associate (1 position)

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Ph.D. degree in the social sciences and strong research skills are required.  Those whose advanced training is in Economics are especially encouraged to apply, but those with a Ph.D. in other social science disciplines will also be considered.
  • Experience with applied labor economics and econometrics highly desired. 
  • Experience with SAS or other statistical software packages, survey design and development, qualitative research, or other technical research skills, as well as experience conducting analyses of social programs and engaging in proposal writing are also desirable. 
  • Excellent writing, oral communications, and organizational skills are essential.
