Gates Foundation selects SPR to perform Evaluation for Washington State Strategy

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation recently selected Social Policy Research Associates to conduct an evaluation of the Foundation’s Washington State Strategy. This strategy is using a network approach to strengthen math and social emotional outcomes for students in Seattle’s Road Map Region.

Andrew Wiegand, SPR President, stated: “We are thrilled to serve as a learner partner for the Gates Foundation’s Washington State Strategy. This project builds on our expertise in K-12 systems and our longstanding commitment to equity for all students.  SPR’s team brings a commitment to continuous learning, partnership and equity to lift up lessons on how to support the whole child.”

Sengsouvanh (Sukey) Leshnick, Director of SPR’s Education Division will lead the evaluation along with  Heather Lewis-Charp, Director of SPR’s Philanthropy, Equity, and Youth Division.

Ms. Leshnick notes: “This is an exciting opportunity to apply a racial equity framework to understanding school and community change within the context of cross-sector collaborative efforts.”
